If the child has already cooked a little on their own or with an adult, it will be easier to start cooking also with Carrot Kitchen. Recipes marked "easy" don’t require the usage of an oven or stove top, and they are made with only a few ingredients. With recipes requiring usage of an oven or stove top, it is good for an adult to show the child how to use them for the first times. Also monitoring the operation of other electronic kitchen utensils during the first few times may be needed.

The app has several how-to videos designed for children. The videos teach children for example how to use the stove, blender or stick mixer, as well as measuring and knife skills. These how-to videos support the development of a child’s basic skill set and promote safety in the kitchen.
